Rock. 'N. Roll.
Got to play 2 hours worth of Elton John music tonight. It was kind of fun. It takes like 1/4 of the effort to play rock that it does to play the way I normally play, but it provides 5/6ths the return in excitement and energy and fun that the way I normally play does. There's a little extra spirit that is really rewarding in Jazz playing that I think if I played rock and roll all the time I'd miss, but for one evening, for the amount of happiness it brought to everybody present, it was totally worth the 1/4 effort I put forth :)
